Artists note: the
Sydney to Hobart race is a popular event and crowds always line the
shores of Sydney harbour to farewell the yachts. In 1999 the boats
ran into ferocious storms. Many boats turned back, while others continued.
The whole city kept their radios on to hear news of the yachts and
their crews.
